Aviation is a major UK industry carrying over 180 million passengers a year and over 2.1 million tonnes of freight, if you are considering a career in aviation then security training is vital for you to obtain that highly desirable position. We offer level 1 & 2 qualifications, delivered in a classroom based group over a four day period. Course Content
• Module 1: Objectives and organisation of aviation security; The threat; Security communications within the airport / airline; Reaction to threat (hijack, bomb warning etc); Reporting of incidents; Legal powers: bye-laws, role of the police; Reaction to aggressive behaviour; Reaction to discovery of suspicious articles; General security awareness.
• Module 2: Airport Security Programme; Airport layout;
• Module 3: Pass system(s); Restricted zones; Access control; Patrol techniques
• Module 4: Searching people.
• Module 5: Searching baggage
• Module 6: Recognition of firearms, explosives and incendiary devices.
• Module 7: Using x-ray equipment.
• Module 8: Using archway metal detectors and hand-held metal detectors.
• Module 9: Searching aircraft.
• Module 11: Controlling access to aircraft.
Who the qualification is for
This is aimed at those already working or wishing to work in and around any UK airport. AssessmentThe assessment process is carried out by the tutor at the end of the course.
